Sensational 4000€ fundraiser

Sensational 4000€ fundraiser

The employees and patients of the dialysis clinics in Tangermünde and Genthin handed over a donation of €4,000 to Dr. Ralf Kühn, founding member and chairman of the board of the German-Namibian association Living Culture Namibia at his farewell party from work. This money was given to the Living Culture Foundation as a grant for the further development of the museum landscape in Namibia.

This great fundraising campaign, which was organized by the caretakers and nurses of the dialysis in Genthin and Tangermünde together with their patients, is to be used, among other things, to build a campsite in Singalamwe (Northeast Namibia) right next to the Mafwe Living Museum. This would give the visitors of the museum the opportunity to avoid long journeys and to linger longer at the Mafwe Living Museum. It would also allow visitors to participate in additional programs and learn more about Mafwe culture, which would also generate additional income for the Mafwe Museum. A similar project was implemented last year at the Mbunza Museum near Rundu.

Another program that is to be realized with the donation is the production of an information brochure that will provide an overview of all Living Museums and provide visitors with additional cultural information. The income from the sale of this cultural guide goes back to the Living Museums.

The Living Culture Foundation Namibia would like to thank you for the generous support of our work and this great fundraiser! We will continue to report about the use of the donation sum.

Dr. Ralf Kühn and Sebastian Dürrschmidt
