New Signboards for the Mbunza and Mafwe Museum
As marketing and consulting organisation the Living Culture Foundation Namibia is also responsable for the proper signposting of the six museums it is supporting in Namibia. The relentless heat of the sun especially up north fades and burns away the colours of the signboard to the extend that we have to replace them every 2 – 3 years.

We have now started a trial to have the signboards produced by a different company and in a different way. We don’t have a complete signboard printed anymore, but only the single letters which are then stuck onto the base. Though this is a bit more expensive, but we hope that the signboards will last longer.
Project coordinator Werner Pfeifer has recently traveled to the Mbunza Museum close to Rundu and the Mafwe Museum north of Kongola, which just moved its location, and has put up two new large road signs as well as a few smaller ones along the way. In two years time we will know if the new signboards will last longer than the old ones.
