Conception of our Projects

Here you will find a detailed report about the conception of the LCFN-projects: The range of projects within the LCFN can be devided into main projects and additional programs. The main projects are of special importance for the work of the LCFN and for the realisation of its main aims, whereas the continuing programs are having a perspective and complementary character.

Main Projects

We will support a variety of cultural small-scale projects in Namibia. The projects devide into long term projects of the cultural network, promotional projects within the LCFN culture platform and into short term projects as our educational tours.

1. The culture network

The main task of the LCFN is the initiation of a culture network consisting of traditional, authentic cultural projects. These can include Living Museums, cultural sing and dance groups and traditional artists. The Living Museum has the best oportunity to generate sustainable income and to preserve the cultural heritage.

3. Educational excursions

With educational excursions the members of the cultural network recieve the possibility to get to know their home country, to promote their projects within Namibia to get important training in essential areas of running a business.

Additional Programs

The additional programs have a complementary character and will not be primarily implemented. They are additional development possibilities for the communal areas or alternatives for a cultural, political or economic development cooperation. With most of the additional prgrams we would like to encuorage an intercural dialogue between Namibian and Non-Namibians as well as between the language grous in Namibia.

1. Promotion of communal structures / Infrastructure program

Communal structures can be promoted if a project of the culture network can benefit from their development. This could be help in the building of campsites etc.

2. Research of traditional and modern cultures in Namibia

In the scope of the organisations possibilities the LCFN will support researches concerning traditional and modern cultures in Namibia. Like the original Damara-culture a lot of traditional cultures in Namibia are to be lost and forgotten during the next generations. From decade to decade it is more important to study and reanimate "endangered cultures".

3. Additional reseach and support of traditional cultures

Besides the work in the culture network and in the culture platform the LCFN will support traditional cultures. Possibilities are the promotion of original cultures in cooperation with the television etc. Also exhibitions of important parts of original cultures are a good possibility to present the traditional self-image and understanding especially for Namibians who are not able to visit the projects of the culture network.

4. Research and support of Namibia’s present culture and art

Not only the traditional culture is in the focus of the LCFN. If possible the organisation will support and promote modern culture and art.

5. Public relation work concerning development policy in Namibia

To improve the public perception of the development in Namibia the LCFN will analyse the development policy in Namibia.
