Educational Excursions

The LCFN gives opportunity to successfully established projects of the cultural network to take part in educational excursions in Namibia. This gives the members of the project group the opportunity to visit Namibias highlights and to introduce their project to different parts of the country and thus are able to market their projects.

1. Travel possibilities for the project groups

Often visited by tourists the members of the project group become tourists themselves and are able with the help of the LCFN to visit different parts of their own country. With this tour the LCFN expresses its gratitude to successful projects that have helped to realise the aims of the organisation.

Through the tour the principle of “low financial input" is kept to by working together with Lodges, campsites, etc. These profit from the authentic and traditional performances of the project members, which are also able to contribute to the financing of the tour. This system also supports the idea of “participation” as at least parts of the tour is organised and financed by the “tourists”.

2. Project marketing

Through perfomances and authentic presentation of some cultural aspects of the traditional culture of the group on tour the project gets well-known and with that the project group is responsible for the marketing of their own project. Direct income is generated by selling crafts and jewellery while on tour.

3. Possibities for further education

There are three more advantages of the educational excursions where members of the LCFN and the project group spent a two weeks time together. First of all the trustfulness between project group and organisation is intensified. This is of special interest for a sustainable cooperation in the future. Second of all a tour through Namibia is a perfect moment to evaluate and discuss the whole project. Third of all the LCFN has the possibility to give some of the members of the project the opportunity of further education concerning very basic but important areas of business administration.
